Patrick Skals
Artist member since 2022
ProToronto, Ontario
Patrick Skals is a working artist residing in his hometown of Toronto, Canada. In 2019, after 10 years employed in the corporate rat race, he decided to make a major career shift in pursuit of his artistic ambitions.
Operating on the ethos of cerebral disruption, Patrick’s body of work titled 'In Other Words' delivers a truly distinctive style that speaks volumes.
Patrick’s paintings fuse abstraction & commentary, intended to have one rethink social norms and reframe common perspectives. By tackling psychocultural topics the audience is encouraged to confront the subjects applying life experiences - and hopefully awaken subconscious drivers.
Authenticity is at the heart of each painting, feeling as impulsive as they do calculated. The viewer is invited to feel the vulnerability of an artist battling himself in a rapidly changing environment.
Patrick’s work can be found at juried shows, commercial galleries, and private collections throughout North America and Europe.
